Solidary tree day: Pefaco Hotels fighting deforestation
On November 6th, Pefaco Hotels took part in the 28th National Tree Day. This edition was held under the theme “Let us fight against deforestation by planting trees.”
During the day, Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace 5* planted numerous different species of trees. All hotel staff participated with joy, accompanied by delighted customers.
For Pefaco Hotels, the hotel division of the Spanish company Grupo Pefaco, planting a tree is a civic duty and a very crucial action in the battle against climate change.
National Tree Day is celebrated on November 6th each year, established in 1986 by President Denis Sassou-Nguesso, in order to fight deforestation and forest degradation.
Pefaco Hotels was created by Francis Perez and Olivier Cauro in 2009. The Group and its subsidiaries are deeply committed to and involved in social responsibility and environmental policy in all the countries they operate in.

Pefaco Hotels attends the international exhibition Hostelco in Barcelona
Hostelco, the international exhibition of the latest innovations in equipment, products, hotel and catering services, is currently taking place in Barcelona.
Hostelco brings together the leading companies in the food and service industry from the 20th to the 23rd of October 2014 at the Fira Gran Via in Barcelone. Pefaco Hotels joined the professionals present at the event to get in touch with nearly 500 industry experts and develop possible partnerships with hotel suppliers.
The hotel brand of Grupo Pefaco was created in 2009 by Francis Perez and Olivier Cauro, with the ambition of becoming a major player in the tourism, leisure and business industry in the African continent.

“The journey to Innovation”: Pefaco Hotels attends a conference Telefónica
Telefónica is one of the leading telecommunications operators in the world. The group provides communication, information and entertainment solutions to 24 countries in Europe and Latin America.
In order to offer thriving companies the possibility to grow alongside the technological developments, Telefónica held a conference about “The journey to Innovation” (Jornada Viatge a la Innovació) in the center of Barcelona, at the emblematic modernist musical hall, Palau de la Música Catalana.
Pefaco Hotels was invited to the event alongside other key players in the hospitality, retail and medical industries to initiate a dialogue about industry specific needs, and Telefónica’s capacity of responding to these.

The African Committee gathers at Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace to discuss a UN reform
An African Committee gathered in Congo, at the Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace in Oyo, in order to discuss what they consider an injustice: the absence of African countries in the Security Council of the United-Nations (UN).
The meeting gathered various leading figures of the African continent: Denis Sassou-N’Guesso, President of the Republic of Congo, Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, Ernest Bai Koroma, President of the Republic of Sierra Leone, Nouri Abu Sahmain, President of the general congress of Libya, Secretaries of Foreign Affairs of Namibia, Zambia, Senegal, Kenya and Uganda, amongst others. They all wished to share their concern about African countries joining the Security Council.
Some important newspapers published reports on the meeting: State House (The government of Sierra Leone), Leadership (Nigeria) and Afrikanspot.

Pefaco Hotels at the Hotelier Summit Africa 2014
The Hotelier Summit Africa took place on Thursday 24th and Friday 25th of April in Morocco. The summit aimed at gathering leading actors of the hospitality industry to explore the future of investments in the African continent.
The Mazagan Beach & Golf Resort de Casablanca hosted the international summit, where more than 200 industry experts were to discuss opportunities in the African hospitality sector.
Representatives from Pefaco Hotels attended the Hotelier Summit Africa. Among them Joan Bach, president of Bach&Associats and designated architect of Pefaco Hotel Prestige Lomé, who met with possible suppliers for the construction of the hotel.

Pefaco Hotels is invited to the Hotelier Summit Africa 2014
The Hotelier Summit Africa is an African event meant to gather more than 200 leading experts of the hospitality sector. The 2014 closed-door summit will be hosted by the Mazagan Beach Resort of Casablanca, in Morocco on the 24th and the 25th of April and intends to explore future growth opportunities in the African hospitality sector.
The Hotelier Summit Africa 2014 chose Morocco as hosting country, as it is said to become the major country for foreign direct investment in the African hotel industry by 2017. It is also listed as the friendliest African country to its tourists by the World Economic Forum.
Various international hotel brands will be present, such as Accor, Carlson-Rezidor, Hilton International, Marriott International and Louvre Hotels, some of the most active brands investing in Africa*.
Because of its emerging and decisive role in the African hospitality sector, Pefaco Hotels was officially requested to take part in the Hotelier Summit Africa 2014.

Pefaco Hotels : new visual identity
At the beginning of April, Pefaco Hotels, the hospitality division of Grupo Pefaco, officially released its new logo on its company Websites and communication materials.
Creating a new visual identity arose from the wish of Francis Perez and Olivier Cauro to modernize the image of the hotel chain, so that it would reflect the fine quality of its hotels.
An invitation to tender was opened for the creation of the logo, at the end of which the founders of the Group retained the project of the communication agency Avalanche.

Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace 5* welcomes the pupils of Sainte-Croix in Makova
Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace 5* opened its doors to the pupils of Sainte-Croix school of Makova, accompanied by their headmaster Mrs. Obeokoua.
This visit allowed them to discover the premises and the functioning of the hotel. At the close to this educational excursion, a snack was offered to the delighted and amazed pupils.
