Togo for the first time at the International Tourism Fair FITUR 2015

The Republic of Togo will participate for the first time in the International Tourism Fair FITUR in its 35th edition, from January 28th to February 1st, 2015 in Madrid, thanks to Pefaco Hotels’ sponsorship.

The Togolese Ministry of Tourism will welcome attendees in Hall 6 AFRICA / MIDDLE EAST at booth 6D11. The Ministry of Tourism of the Republic of Togo and Pefaco Hotels will join the professionals present to meet with industry experts to develop potential partnerships and contribute to the development of tourism in Togo.

FITUR is a global meeting point for tourism professionals and the leading trade fair for inbound and outbound Ibero-American markets. In 2014-confirming the trend towards recovery in the industry- 9,083 exhibiting companies from 165 countries/ regions, 120,231 trade participants and 97,549 people from the general public, met during FITUR to transform leisure into business and business into development. Moreover among the participation figures of note was the presence of 7,368 journalists from 60 countries, a turnout that demonstrates the importance of FITUR on the international circuit of tourism sector events.

Pefaco Hotels, a subsidiary of Grupo Pefaco, was created in 2009 with the aspiration of becoming a key player in the tourism industry in Africa. Pefaco Hotels is currently building the resort Pefaco Hotel Prestige Lomé 5*, consisting of a 198 room hotel and international conference centre on the beach of the Togolese capital. Through this sponsorship, Francis PEREZ, President of Grupo Pefaco, aims to accompany the Togolese institutions in promoting this extraordinary country, where the group is present since 1997 employing close to 500 people.

Solidary tree day: Pefaco Hotels fighting deforestation

On November 6th, Pefaco Hotels took part in the 28th National Tree Day. This edition was held under the theme “Let us fight against deforestation by planting trees.”

During the day, Pefaco Hotel Alima Palace 5* planted numerous different species of trees. All hotel staff participated with joy, accompanied by delighted customers.

For Pefaco Hotels, the hotel division of the Spanish company Grupo Pefaco, planting a tree is a civic duty and a very crucial action in the battle against climate change.

National Tree Day is celebrated on November 6th each year, established in 1986 by President Denis Sassou-Nguesso, in order to fight deforestation and forest degradation.

Pefaco Hotels was created by Francis Perez and Olivier Cauro in 2009. The Group and its subsidiaries are deeply committed to and involved in social responsibility and environmental policy in all the countries they operate in.

“The journey to Innovation”: Pefaco Hotels attends a conference Telefónica

Telefónica is one of the leading telecommunications operators in the world. The group provides communication, information and entertainment solutions to 24 countries in Europe and Latin America.

In order to offer thriving companies the possibility to grow alongside the technological developments, Telefónica held a conference about “The journey to Innovation” (Jornada Viatge a la Innovació) in the center of Barcelona, at the emblematic modernist musical hall, Palau de la Música Catalana.

Pefaco Hotels was invited to the event alongside other key players in the hospitality, retail and medical industries to initiate a dialogue about industry specific needs, and Telefónica’s capacity of responding to these.

Pefaco Hotels : new visual identity

At the beginning of April, Pefaco Hotels, the hospitality division of Grupo Pefaco, officially released its new logo on its company Websites and communication materials.

Creating a new visual identity arose from the wish of Francis Perez and Olivier Cauro to modernize the image of the hotel chain, so that it would reflect the fine quality of its hotels.

An invitation to tender was opened for the creation of the logo, at the end of which the founders of the Group retained the project of the communication agency Avalanche.
